Becoming Crew

We would like to welcome Community Leaders 9th grade to the most amazing autumn day here at Sharpe Reservation.  It is sunny, breezy and warm.  The trees are resounding in all their colorful glory.  It is still early in the school year and crews are getting to know one another and will continue to do so for the next 4 years of their high school career.  Even in just a few short hours, students and crew advisors are starting to make deep and intimate connections to one another.  These relationships will be the basis for school life at Community Leaders.

Each crew is accompanied by one or two mentors.  I received a very persuasive email from senior mentor, Cindy, stating why it would be a good idea for the new mentors to have a senior mentor accompany then.  Cindy won me over for sure.  Mentors will bridge some teaching from the Outward Bound instructors to the students and will also help and support.  We are glad to have them here with us.

Today the schedule is as follows:

Backpacking:  Ms. Kaba & Mr. Ahmed

Low Challenge: Ms. Madris, Ms. Schenck, & Dunzleman
